Health Awareness Evening at Liverpool

23rd November 2016

Always looking out for the health and welfare of Masons in the region, the Mark Province of West Lancashire has sponsored several Health Awareness Evenings across the province.  Liverpool Masonic Hall hosted the latest one on Thursday 23rd November.  There was a reasonable to turnout of masons, wives, partners and friends to hear talks on; Prostate Cancer; Stroke and Alzheimer’s.  Each speaker brought their own personnel experience of the subject that they were talking about.  In all cases it was explained that there are things we can do to try and prevent certain things happening, like, healthy eating, and exercise; but there are also things that are beyond our control.

who was the speaker on Prostate Cancer
There is not yet national screening for Prostate Cancer and recognizing the symptoms is not always easy.  The same can be said for Stroke and Alzheimer’s and so it in most cases it is better to be safe and see a doctor if worried.

There are two more of these evenings arranged, the next one being on 30th November at Southport and the final one is at Chorley on 7th December.  These events are open to all masons and wives, partners and friends and are well worth attending, so please go along and find out more.  Please also try and encourage other masons to go along to.
